Plumber in Cayucos, CA

~33 miles from the Grover Beach shop · about 40 minutes

Cayucos is older beach cottages, vacation rentals and homes right in the salt air, from Ocean Avenue and the pier up the hill toward Old Creek Road. Most of the plumbing work here comes down to corrosion, aging supply lines, tight spaces and sewer laterals that belong to the homeowner. Water comes from several different local providers, and the Cayucos Sanitary District handles sewer, so the first call isn't always obvious. We can help you sort out what's yours to fix.

What We See in Cayucos Homes

Your Sewer Lateral Is Your Responsibility

The Cayucos Sanitary District says property owners are solely responsible for maintaining and repairing their sewer laterals. So when a drain backs up, the fix is usually yours to arrange. We run a camera down the line first, so you can see whether it's roots, a belly, a broken joint or a clog, and where it sits, before you pay to dig.

Backwater Protection on Low Fixtures

The District requires a backflow device on plumbing fixtures lower than the nearest upstream manhole, because a blocked main can push sewage into the home. Lower-level bathrooms and homes below street grade are the ones to check. If you've had a backup or aren't sure whether you have a device, we can find out and install or service one.

Salt Air on Everything Exposed

A few blocks from the water, exposed metal ages quickly. Hose bibbs, pressure regulators, exterior copper and water heater vent connectors are what we replace most often in beach towns like this. A failing regulator is much cheaper to catch before it lets go inside a wall.

Repipes in Older Cottages

If an older cottage still has its original supply lines, weak pressure, discolored water and repeat pinhole leaks are the usual signs. Replacing the lines with PEX or copper ends the cycle of patching.

Vacation Rentals and Tight Water Heater Spaces

A rental can't sit without hot water or with a backed-up drain between guests, and many cottages have the water heater in a tight closet. We replace tank and tankless units and tell you plainly if the space, gas line or venting won't work. Property managers can call (805) 788-8444 directly.

FAQ

Cayucos Plumbing Questions

+ Who is responsible for a sewer backup in Cayucos?

It depends on where the blockage is. The Cayucos Sanitary District says the lateral from your building to the District's main is the property owner's responsibility. If you have a backup, a camera shows where the problem is. If you think the main is blocked, call the District right away.

+ Who supplies water in Cayucos?

It depends on where you are. Cayucos is served by Cayucos Beach Mutual Water Company, Morro Rock Mutual Water Company and County Service Area 10A. Your water bill shows which one is yours. Plumbing past your meter is usually yours to maintain, but check with your provider.

+ Do I need a backflow device on my Cayucos sewer line?

The Cayucos Sanitary District requires one for plumbing fixtures lower than the nearest upstream manhole. Lower-level bathrooms are the common case. Check with the District about your property, or call us and we'll look at your layout.

+ How long does it take you to get to Cayucos?

It's about 33 miles and 40 minutes from our Grover Beach shop. We often group North Coast work, so call (805) 788-8444 for the soonest day we can be there.

+ Can you help with a vacation rental in Cayucos?

Yes. We work with owners and property managers on drains, water heaters, leaks and supply lines. Tell us when the next guests arrive and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.

+ Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We're a CA C-36 plumbing contractor, license #1102487, bonded and insured.
