Who is allowed to work on medical gas piping in California?

Only installers holding medical gas certification — ASSE 6010 under the ASSE Series 6000 standard — may legally install medical gas piping in California. NFPA 99 and California Title 22 require it, and a standard C-36 plumbing license alone is not sufficient. Verification testing must be performed by an ASSE 6030 verifier independent of the installer.
