We hold ASSE 6010 certification for medical gas piping, and our backflow assembly tester certification is through CA-NV AWWA — the certifying program the State Water Board already lists as meeting California's July 2027 accreditation standard. Every job is covered by our 1-year workmanship warranty.

Modern Perspective Plumbing is licensed under Cota Companies LLC and based in Grover Beach, CA. We started with a simple belief: that a plumbing contractor could do great work, communicate honestly, and treat every customer the way we'd want to be treated. One company. Two divisions. The same standard of work on every job — whether it's a water heater at a home in Pismo or a ground-up commercial build in Santa Maria.
Who owns Modern Perspective Plumbing?
We're Ed and Eduardo Cota Sr. Father and son, working out of a shop on 4th Street in Grover Beach since 2022.
We built this company around the stuff that actually bothers people about hiring a plumber: not knowing what it'll cost, not knowing if the guy is licensed, not knowing whether the work will hold. So we price the job before we start it, we pull permits, and we back the work for a year.

How fast can you get to us?+

Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?+
Yes. Text us at (805) 788-8444 after hours and we monitor for urgent situations — active leaks, no hot water, gas concerns.
Do you give upfront pricing?+
Always. We give you a ballpark before we start and a firm number once we've seen the job. No surprises on the invoice.
Do you charge a service call fee?+
We charge a $79.99 service fee to come out and assess the situation. If you approve the work, that fee is waived — you only pay for the job. If you decide not to move forward, the $79.99 covers our drive time and on-site assessment.
I have an older home — is that a problem?+
Not at all — it's most of what we do. Older Central Coast homes have galvanized pipe, cast iron drains, and outdated fixtures. We know what we're walking into.
Are you actually local or is this a franchise?+
Father-and-son company based in Grover Beach. No franchise, no call center. You'll meet us on the job.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. Modern Perspective Plumbing is a licensed California plumbing contractor and fully insured. We follow all applicable plumbing codes and industry standards to ensure your plumbing repairs and installations are completed safely and professionally.
Do you warranty your work?+
Yes. All labor and installations are backed by our 1-year workmanship warranty. If something we did fails within a year, we come back and fix it — no charge, no runaround. Material warranties vary by manufacturer and we'll walk you through what's covered before we start.
Does my insurance require a leak detection device?+
Some insurance carriers are now requiring automatic leak detection and shutoff devices — especially for newer policies and policy renewals in California. We install whole-home leak protection systems that automatically shut off your water supply if a leak is detected, protecting your home and keeping you compliant with your carrier.
