Los Osos has more than one water supplier. Los Osos Community Services District uses the County of San Luis Obispo's cross-connection services. The County sends notices and reviews reports. Golden State Water serves other parts of Los Osos and runs its own program, with reports emailed straight to Golden State Water. Your water bill tells you which one you're on.

How we handle your test
We test each assembly with a calibrated differential gauge: both checks, and on an RP the relief valve. Most single devices take about 30 minutes. For a business, we test before you open or after you close, so the water's never off during your hours. We carry repair kits for the common Watts, Febco, Wilkins and Zurn assemblies, so most failures get repaired and retested in the same visit. You get a copy of the report, and we file the certified copy with your water supplier (Los Osos CSD through the County program, or Golden State Water). A passing test that never reaches the district counts as no test.

Los Osos has recycled water, and the County's rules for it are strict. There can be no connection at all between recycled and drinking water piping. A cross-connection test is required before recycled service starts, and a suspected cross-connection has to be phoned in to the County immediately and followed up in writing within 24 hours. If you're adding recycled irrigation or have both systems on site, we test the separation as well as the assembly. Salt air near the bay also corrodes exposed assemblies, so we check the body's condition at every test.
