Who handles backflow in Grover Beach
The City of Grover Beach supplies the water. The County of San Luis Obispo's Environmental Health cross-connection program handles the backflow paperwork for the City. The County keeps the device list, mails the test notices, and reviews every report. The County mails your notice about 45 days before the test is due. If it's not in by the due date, a second notice follows 15 days later. A final notice 30 days after that recommends shutting the water off.
What Grover Beach properties need a tested assembly
Commercial buildings, restaurants and shops along Grand Avenue, dedicated irrigation services, fire sprinkler lines, and any property with a well or auxiliary water supply tied into its plumbing. The County requires a lead-free reduced pressure (RP) assembly on domestic services. Irrigation also needs an RP. Double-check assemblies are allowed on fire sprinkler systems only.
